Cash Advance Check
Cash advance checks are special checks issued by credit card companies to their customers in order for the customers to use to make payments when they cannot use their credit card. These checks worth just like ordinary checks except the amounts are added to the credit card bill. Cash advances are convenient although expensive as they are basically a type of short-term loan with high interest rates that apply immediately. They require quick payment or the interest rates can go above the original cash advance amount. The overall credit limit on a credit card account includes a limit for cash advances. The total of the cash advances plus the interest on them should not exceed the cash advance limit or it could cause the overall credit limit to be exceeded.

The APR for cash advance checks may be higher than the APR for normal purchases. The credit card company may charge a fee in addition to the interest that is added onto the advanced amount. Some credit cards limit the amount of cash advance checks available to the customer. This can be based on the overall credit limit or just a set proportion of it.
