Be wary when using credit cards abroad
Travelers especially those planning a foreign trip abroad need to be very careful in the use of their plastic as there are many hidden charges that can accrue without their knowledge.

Most credit card providers charge a nominal fee for using the card in a foreign country. They also charge for any withdrawals made form ATM's while abroad. According to a recent Nat West Survey these charges will have to be considered even more than usual.

Going by what the bank says a typical family may have to pay as much as £1,850 on the kids alone.

The location or place from which the family hails is another criterion which will affect the cost. A family which comes from Midlands England may be required to pay only £825 whereas a family that comes from Scotland may have to pay as much as £1,625 per child for a two-week holiday.

What is one of the main costs that parents decide to use their credit card for? It is Food. The same Nat West survey shows that the family from Scotland can be expected to pay as much as £500 on food. Whereas the family from Midlands would have to pay only around £100.

An employee working for Nat West travel money said according to research done where a person comes from and where he goes can make a lot of difference in the cost of taking his children abroad.
